MATCHA CRASH COURSE

HOW TO PREPARE MATCHA

1. Add 1 Tsp of Matcha powder into a Bowl

2. Add about 50ml of warm water to the bowl (max. 80°C). Just so the matcha powder is covered. Make sure not to add TOO much water.

3. Using your bamboo whisk (the absolute essential tool), whisk the matcha and water together in M/Z shape motions until a thick layer of froth forms.

4. Once your matcha is all mixed up, you can enjoy it in many different ways - an iced latte, a hot latte or simply keeping it pure and adding some more hot water!

5. Finally, relax, sip & enjoy your moment of stillness and feel that calm energy kick in.

HOW TO STORE MATCHA

Keep properly sealed and store in a cool dry place, away from moisture and sunlight.

WHAT DOES IT TASTE LIKE?

Umami, full-bodied, smooth taste with a lingering sweetness and creaminess.

WHAT DOES "CEREMONIAL GRADE" MEAN?

Ceremonial grade matcha is the purest, highest-quality matcha, traditionally used in Japanese tea ceremonies. It’s made from the youngest tea leaves, giving it a vibrant green colour, a smooth flavour with no bitterness, and the best nutritional profile. This is the matcha you want for drinking, not baking or cooking, and it’s the only grade we use.

WHY THE REGION MATTERS

Matcha’s flavour, colour, and quality are deeply influenced by where it’s grown. Our matcha is sourced from Uji, Japan, a region renowned for producing the world’s best matcha for centuries. Uji’s unique climate, soil, and traditional farming methods ensure a matcha that is vibrant, fresh, and rich in nutrients.

WHY IS MATCHA SO HEALTHY?

Matcha is a powerhouse of nutrients. It’s packed with antioxidants, particularly EGCG, which supports cellular health. It helps boost metabolism, promotes calm focus, and supports your body’s natural detoxification processes. Plus, matcha provides steady energy without the crashes, thanks to its unique combination of caffeine and L-theanine.

DOES MATCHA CONTAIN CAFFEINE?

Yes, matcha contains caffeine, but it’s not like coffee. The caffeine in matcha is balanced with L-theanine, an amino acid that promotes calmness and focus. This means you get a steady, sustained energy boost without the jitters or crashes associated with coffee.

WHEN SHOULD I DRINK MATCHA?

Matcha can be enjoyed any time of day! It’s perfect in the morning for a calm energy boost or in the afternoon to fight that post-lunch slump. Avoid drinking it too late in the evening if you’re sensitive to caffeine. Matcha is also a beautiful way to start a mindful ritual, no matter the time.

HISTORY OF MATCHA

Matcha has been cherished in Japan for over 800 years, originating from Zen Buddhist monks who used it to support meditation and focus. Over time, it became central to the Japanese tea ceremony, representing harmony, respect, and tranquility. Today, matcha is celebrated worldwide for its taste and health benefits.

WHY FRESHNESS IS ESSENTIAL

Fresh matcha is vibrant green, smooth, and full of nutrients. Over time, matcha can lose its colour, flavour, and potency as it oxidises. That’s why we source in small batches and import fresh matcha directly from Uji, Japan, ensuring you always get the best.

WHY OUR MATCHA

We source ceremonial-grade matcha directly from a small, family-owned farm in Uji, Japan, ensuring every batch is fresh, vibrant, and of the highest quality. It’s smooth, subtle, and crafted for both matcha lovers and newcomers. With no fillers, additives, or bitterness, our matcha is the perfect companion to your wellness journey.
